Roots is the first single from my fourth self recorded and produced album Roots/Routes which is due for release on the 3rd January. It's a beautiful song with a multitude of meanings and inspirations but overall is about learning to understand yourself and the ways in which we change over time. It shares about finding the roots of thoughts/feelings and retracing what led you to that decision / event or point in time. I hugely enjoyed the process of composing all the different instrumental parts flowing through this song and the whole album and really pushed myself with each element - a real solo venture. I'm so happy with the overall sound that feels enveloping and restorative and can't wait for it to be out.
